Frequently Asked Questions

Does Bayshore Physical Therapy offer OHIP funded physiotherapy treatment?

There are limited OHIP funded clinics in the province. Unfortunately, Bayshore Physical Therapy does not offer OHIP funded treatment. However, we can help with obtaining funding through WSIB claims, Motor Vehicle Accident Claims, and private health insurance plans. Call our clinic to discuss funding options.

Do I need a referral for physiotherapy or massage therapy?

Physiotherapists and massage therapists are primary access providers. Therefore, a referral is not necessary for you to benefit from our services. However, a referral may be required to be reimbursed by your extended health benefits.

Do you direct bill with my insurance plan?

We provide direct billing services with some insurance plans. However due to individual policies, we are unable to provide an answer until you visit the clinic and speak with one of our administration staff who would be pleased to help you. You may also phone your insurance plan holder and clarify if our clinic is able to offer direct billing or assignment of benefits.

What should I wear when I come for my appointments?

Loose fitting garments such as shorts, tank tops, yoga pants, and t-shirts are recommended as we will be required to have access to the affected body parts during assessment and treatment.

Typically, how long are appointments?

Our appointment times vary depending on the condition(s) being treated. We encourage you to ask your physiotherapist during your assessment the amount of time you should be allotting for future appointments.

How many treatments will I need?

The answer to this will depend on your initial assessment at which point you and your physical therapist will outline a course of treatment to best suit your specific case and needs.

Are your physical therapists registered?

Yes, all of our physiotherapists are licensed to practice with the College of Physiotherapists of Ontario. Our physiotherapists are regulated in Ontario under the Regulated Health Professions Act (RHPA).

Who will I be seeing during my physiotherapy appointment?

Bayshore Physical Therapy only has 4 registered physical therapists on staff. Therefore, for your appointments, you will only be treated by one of our registered physical therapists.
