Raised in the Owen Sound area near Big Bay, Paul attended school at Hillcrest and West Hill. Then, he left Owen Sound to attend the University of Guelph for Human Kinetics, and later the University of Toronto to become a physical therapist. Throughout his professional career, Paul has practiced in orthopaedics physical therapy with a keen interest in sports injury rehabilitation.
Paul returned to Owen Sound with his wife Michele, also a native to Owen Sound, to raise their family son, Christian and daughter, Arenn. Paul founded Bayshore Physical Therapy in 1998 and has watched the business expand and develop to its present state employing 4 physical therapists, 2 administrative staff, and a RMT. Over the past 5 years, Paul has acquired additional specialized training in management of chronic disease such as diabetes, osteoporosis, pre-diabetes (metabolic syndrome), osteoarthritis, and chronic pain. Paul collaborated with members of our local Family Health Team, and the Ministry of Health and Long Term Care in research project related to diabetes management. Paul worked with the Owen Sound Family Health Team from 2011 until present initially as a lifestyle coach and presently as a master trainer for the Group Lifestyle Balance™ program government funded diabetes prevention initiative. Paul is also a member of the Primary Care Advisory Committee to the Ontario Physiotherapy Association Board of Directors.
Outside of work, Paul is president of Owen Sound Girls Hockey group, trainer for his daughter’s hockey team, and assistant coach to his daughter’s U21 rep soccer team.
Jenn graduated from the University of Western Ontario in 2010 with a Bachelor of Science with Honours in Kinesiology. She remained at Western University to complete her Masters of Physical Therapy, graduating in 2012. Jenn has taken post-graduate courses in various manual therapy techniques. She holds her Level 2 Acupuncture through AFCI and her Level 1 in Advanced Manual and Manipulative Physiotherapy. Jenn is also certified through Complete Concussion Management for the treatment and management of concussions. She has had additional training in the assessment and treatment of vestibular conditions.
Jenn strives to provide each client with the highest quality of care. She prides herself in ensuring her clients return to regular pain-free functioning as quickly as possible.
Jenn was born and raised in Owen Sound, and was excited to be able to purse her career back home. Jenn married her high school sweetheart in September 2013, and together, they have a beautiful daughter, Taryn, who was born in November 2015, and an English Bulldog named Toby!
Rick completed his Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology in 2007 from the University of New Brunswick with strong interests in exercise science and bodybuilding, followed by his Masters in Physical Therapy at the University of Western Ontario in 2009. Over the last decade, Rick’s development of his clinical practice and community outreach has expanded over a significant spectrum in manual and manipulative therapy, concussion management, acupuncture, soft tissue release, temporomandibular dysfunction, motor vehicle injury rehabilitation, and WSIB reconditioning.
Rick also is a contributor to education opportunities for high school coop students, physical therapy assistant, physical therapy students, as well as presentations for schools and community groups for concussion management.
Rick has been a proud supporter of Grey and Bruce community events, and networking with other fellow health professionals. Whether it’s’ enjoying the yearly Salmon Spectacular Derby and Rib-Fest, or the Wiarton Multisport race, and multiple other athletic events as a covering physical therapist, you will see Rick as a friendly knowledgeable leader and health care provider who is passionate for what he does and his ability to look outside the box in assessment and treatment.
Carolyn graduated from Syracuse University in 2010 with a Bachelor of Science in Exercise Science. She continued onto completing a certificate in Therapeutic Recreation in 2012 through Georgian College, followed by her Masters in Physical Therapy in 2015 through Western University. Carolyn has completed additional certifications in pelvic floor physiotherapy, acupuncture, and concussion management.
Carolyn grew up in Barrie where she was very competitive in athletics. As a competitive swimmer for over 10 years, Carolyn is passionate about the human body and injury prevention. Her love of sports and helping people work towards their goals helped guide Carolyn to physiotherapy. Carolyn takes a very client-centered approach to each and every patient, with the patients’ goals as her primary focus in helping maximize individuals’ rehabilitation and outcomes.
After completing a physiotherapy placement in the summer of 2014 at Bayshore Physical Therapy, Carolyn knew she would like to return to the area, and pursue her physiotherapy career here. In Carolyn’s downtime, she enjoys traveling, relaxing at the cottage, and most of all, spending time with her very spoiled dog, Vinny.
Grant graduated from Centennial Colleges Massage Therapy program in 2010. Grant focuses on rehabilitation, fascial work, deep tissue, and sports massage. Combined with a background in Reiki and other relaxation techniques, Grant is able to provide specific treatment focused massage, general relaxation massage or a nice blend of the two. He is dedicated in working with you as the client to develop an individual treatment plan and approach that will suit your goals.
Outside of work, Grant loves getting outdoors. Originally from Wiarton, he spent a lot of his childhood in and around the Owen Sound area and helped to foster his love of natural spaces. Grant’s favourite activities are hiking and swimming in the summers, and snowboarding and snowshoeing in the winter. Grant lives a healthy, active lifestyle, and supports our local community by purchasing locally grown vegetables and meat, as well as supporting local business when possible!
Jennifer came to Bayshore Physical Therapy in 2011 with a diploma in Medical Office Administration. As the Clinic Administrator, she is determined to provide a very pleasant and professional experience for all of our patients.
Jennifer moved to Chatsworth when she was 13, and loved the small town life so much that she bought a house there with her two children, Austin and Aly. In 2013, she expanded her family, and is now enjoying the role as a loving wife to Dustin and step-mother to Kaleb and Nathan.
Jennifer is a proud supporter of her all children including her husband, and of their interests, which means she spends most of her time in a hockey arena, at a soccer field, or at a baseball diamond! Jennifer is also the team manager for her daughter’s U21 Rep Soccer team.
Luckily, she also finds time to enjoy her passion for photography, which she usually does when she is watching her children play their sports, taking them tobogganing, or going on family hikes!
Katelynn is focused on using her excellent people skills to make sure all of our patient’s needs are being met. It is her friendly smile that will greet you as you walk through the door.
Katelynn was born and raised in Owen Sound, and continues to live in the area with her husband, and their son, Morgan. She enjoys outdoor activities such as hiking, camping, and going to the beach in the warmer weather. Her and her husband are both hockey fans, and enjoy going to games. She also likes to spend as much time as she can with family and friends.
